Little Man baby shower
The theme was Little Man or more so Bow ties! Here is the shower that inspired my new chevron shades.
It all started with this...
And then pretty much became the easiest shower decor ever. You just tie a bow on everything or turn whatever you can into a bowtie!;)
The adorable cupcakes were made by our friend Nicola over at cup a dewdle dew. Check out her blog and USE HER if you are in need of some adorable and yummy cupcakes!

DIY Roman Shades
Alright here’s a little DIY I did two weekends. I had ordered this chevron fabric from fabric.com and while playing around with using it as décor for a baby shower at my house I fell in LOVE with it as shades over our back door windows.
The yellow ones we currently have up there I ordered from potterybarn about 6 years ago so it was time for a change anyways.
After taking the original ones off I realized it would be super easy to just remove the yellow fabric from the white backing and replace it with the chevron fabric. All it would take is scissors, a staple gun, needle and thread.
The yellow fabric was wrapped around a square piece of wood at top and stapled to it. I first removed the yellow from the wood and from the white backing.
Next, I measured out the chevron fabric to be the same length and height as the yellow. I pinned the sides in and ironed them down to give the edges a clean finish. NO sew!
After that I layed the white backing over the chevron fabric and began reattaching them to the wood bar at the top. This is where the shade hangs from.
Last step was just to sew all the little white circles back onto the white and chevron fabric. These little guys are what the string goes through to allow the shade to roll up when pulled.
And wala!
This might seemed complicated but I promise it was not. It's simply taking apart something and then remembering step by step how to put it back together just with new fabric. I would encourage you before you go out and buy new cushions or shades just look to see if they can be recovered. 12 dollars in fabric was a heck of a lot cheaper than 200 dollars in new roman shades. I’ll give myself a pat on the back for this one….

Father's day weekend
We celebrated Father's day early with family on Saturday. Saturday morning we headed to Hickory where Hunters Grandaddy lives (Hunter Jr.) His retirement community was holding a fathers day breakfast so we joined in. To say Hunter 5 was hit would be an understatement. All of grandaddy's friends were so excited to meet the 5th generation of Hunters!
After breakfast we headed outside to do a little photo shoot with the 4 Hunters. Grandaddy loves photos plus we only have a couple pictures of the first 4 Hunters together from when Hunter IV was a baby and we know how much we cherish those, now 30 years later. We want to be sure we have more of 2,3,4 & 5!
After the shoot we packed up and headed to the lake condo! As of recent Hunters parents bought a condo, boat, and a jet ski on lake Norman. The condo also has a pool and beach access so we are now lucky enough to be just a few minutes away from paradise every free weekend!
nap time on the boat!
Playing with the boat anchor
Def a good way to get your kids and grand kids to come around more often! I'm taking future notes ;)
Sunday was less fun as we made right with Jesus by attending church and then piddled around the house doing chores. I did complete a little DIY project that I'm excited to share with u later this week!
Another busy week lies ahead as I prepare for a baby shower Im throwing in our home on Saturday and family to be in town for Hunter Vs baptism on Sunday. It def never ends...but I'm thankful.

Reagan's 2nd Birthday
Last weekend we traveled to Greenville to celebrate Cousin Reagan's 2nd Birthday! Aunt Carter and Uncle Chad have a beautiful home with an inground pool so relaxtion and fun we're VERY easy to come by!
Carter did a wonderful job hosting a very low key, easy, yet fun and beautiful party!
It's safe to say all the adorable kiddies and parents had a great time :)
And I personally am proud of myself for successfully driving 4 hours in the car by myself with the baby. (Hunter was on a golf trip with friends). It's all about timing, planning ahead, and having enough paci's up front with me to keep passing back to the baby. Oh and mickey mouse on the ipad helped too ;)
