A beautiful evening...

Sometimes all it takes to get out of our ruts is to just mix up the old routine a little bit. Spontaniously.

Wake up, shower, get ready, wake baby up, get him ready, take hubby to work, take baby to work, take myself to work, work. Pick up baby, pick up hubby, go home, make dinner, feed baby, feed Jake, give baby bath, read him books, put him to bed. Feed ourselves, do laundry, pick up toys, clean kitchen, vacuum jake hair. Does this routine sound familar to anyone else? Pretty sure it does to most working moms.

Last night for our anniversary we dicedied to mix up the ole routine, last minute. We made the plan to have a picnic on The Green after work with baby instead of heading home right away. I didn't have anything prepped for baby and I didnt want to picnic in my work clothes. So I picked up baby from school and we headed to target. I bought a comfy maxi dress to throw on, grabbed some champagne, plastic glasses, bubbles and a ball for baby to play with, cheese crackers and some chic-fil-a. Off we went to The Green (a grassy park area in the center of the city). Baby and I set up shop and dad met us there when he got off work. It was lovely. We sipped champagne, ate cheese and crackers, baby had space to run around, we didnt want to leave. It was a great way to mix up our old routine and celebrate three years of marriage.

Added bonus - on the way back to the car baby fell alseep in the stroller so we strolled right into Brixx and had dinner while baby slept. He slept 2 hrs in his stroller while we enjoyed a night out. Thanks little man - Mommy and Daddy owe you one!! xo

We may have to do picnics for dinner more often, I'm feeling refresed today loving the little things!

And sorry no pictures with this post...we didnt take any pictures either which is always nice for a change :) Like Hunter says..."babe remember it in your head, you dont have to take a picture of everything" :) I'll remember this night in my head!

Now what comes with anniversaries or birthdays and mothers days for that matter. Presents! Well... for most people that is.

Truth is the husband and I don’t do gifts. At least for the past 4 holidays/events we haven’t done gifts. Really I’m not even sure how we got here and would like to discuss putting an end to it. BUT – if he WERE to get me a gift or if he needed some ideas for a gift for me I could help him out. It would look something like this....

Gifts for self improvement. You know reading, books, things that will make me smarter and a better person. (Or make my coffee table look prettier):

A clarisonic Mia - I'm way behind on this one. Need to jump on this boat fast!

Well what can I say I'm not a hard girl to please :) Oh wait, how could i forget...also I'd like a very pracical hand bag. You know something I can carry everywhere. Something I can stick my work laptop in and carry to work, yet still go out with and be stylish. Something I can use as a diaper bag and fill to the brim with baby stuff and also use as my purse. Here's a suggestion...

I said practical, not cheap :)

Oh it's fun to dream....

Happy Anniversary Hunter, I love you ALWAYS AND FOREVER! Thanks for the kiss this morning :)

2nd Anny

Yesterday was our anniversary. Let me just paint you a little picture of what dinner looked like. a2ba3f9d 93c6c4ba 0394f58c a37db6f6 Your looking at a wedge salad, a beef tenderloin tail topped oscar style with crabmeat and lobster. Served with aspargus a top a potato pancake. mmmmmmmm If the nugget only knew what he missed out on after he hit the hay.

And I'll admit I'm not in any of the picture because I was already in my PJs. :) Romantic huh?

What day is it?

It feels like Monday but I think it's Thursday. We are in MAJOR survival mode in the Lunsford household with everyone fighting viruses. Hunter IV and I have colds and poor little Hunter V has bronchitis. He's on a nebulizer treatment with albuteral every six hours and it just breaks our heart hearing the little man cough:(

We got back in town Monday from a very fun Mountain trip, had a PTA meeting for his daycare Tuesday, Daddy rushed him to the Dr. Wednesday morning and I left work early Wednesday afternoon to be with him all while running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get stuff ready for a bridal shower I'm throwing this Saturday too.

I have pictures to share from our long Mountain house weekend, laundry coming out my ears, and a filthy filthy home. If anyone was to unexpectedly come over you would be asked to leave. ha!

Oh yeah and wasn't it ash Wednesday yesterday? This working mom thing with a sick baby is no joke. Breastpump, cough drops, nebulizer machine, snotty tissues, dirty bottles, un maid beds, are just a few things you might see around our house this week.

Praying the weekend brings enough time to catch up on sleep, laundry, cleaning and nursing my little nugget back to health. Is it friday yet??

Happy Valentines Day, Lovers!

As I've said before, holidays take on a whole new meaning once your have a child. I've been so excited for Valentines day this year with Hunter and he's only 3 months old :) That didn't stop us from making Valentines for his classmates and teachers though and of course for daddy. And he wore his red Valentine's day overalls today! He was even so excited that he woke up at 5:30am this morning as oppose to his normal 7:30. Lucky mommy :)

and in case you were wondering...this is my poop face! :)

We made "You're Hand-some" valentines for the boys in his class by tracing Hunter's little hand.

And he O"fish"ally asked Wylie (the only girl in his class) to be his Valentine. I'm pretty sure she said yes. :) The fish valentine idea came from my sister-in-law Jenny's blog. She did a post on it a few weeks back. Thanks Jenny for the adorable idea.

We couldn't forget his AMAZING teachers. Two robot Valentines for Ms. T and Alicia. I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew it would be easy to re-create.

And lastly, a little reminder to Daddy how much he is loved! Another Pinterest idea!

Happy Valentines Day to you and your loved ones, from The Lunsfords! xoxo

Randomness

I feel like my whole life is just randomness right now. We have SO much going on but not one event in praticular is big enough for a full blog post. So instead here's what filling our lives right now.

1. We are trying to wean HL5 from his swaddle. Everything I read says 3 months 4 months max so its time. He does great napping without it at daycare so Monday night we put him down in his crib for the first time without it. This was what I saw on the monitor.

Photobucket

hahaha...I'd say he was enjoying his freedom. He cried out at 2:30am that night though and back in he went. We'll keep trying, and we'll get there.

2. I'm officially addicted to Pinterest. It took me a while and actually took me getting the Pinterest app on my iphone to get me truly addicted. Now I just click on the app and scroll through pins of my followers like i'm scrolling through my facebook newsfeed. Dare I say I check pinterest more than facebook now?? It's a close call! Follow me on Pinterest! (see my button to the right) :) I've even started a board for HL5's birthday. Might be worlds record for earliest start to kids birthday party planning. 8 months in advance, ha! I also bought the stuff to make these homemade granola bars sometime this week. YUM!

Photobucket

3. Are you watching the Bachelor? We are, of course, and its BY FAR our favorite ever. Courtney is HILARIOUS!!! The stuff that comes out of her mouth, the facial expressions she gives and her actions to back it all up. I LOVE her, I'm sorry, I do. Hunter IV is actually willing to watch this season with me because he also looks forward to her hilarious antics.

Photobucket

4. My morning routine is NUTS! I'm still not used to it. I wake up at 6:30am and am still not getting into work until after 9am. 2.5hrs of pure craziness before I even sit down at my desk. It goes a little something like this. 6:30 pump, 6:45am prepare Hunters daycare bottles, wash pump bottles etc. 7am shower, 7:30am feed, change and dress Hunter. 8am finish getting myself ready. 8:15 grab all the bottles and pump stuff out of the fridge and head out the door, 8:30 at daycare to drop him off, 9am at my desk to START my day. say WHAAAAAAT my day is just starting. SIGH!

5. Long live the SOCK BUN! Have you heard of the sock bun. I found it on pinterest and when I repinned the picture before I watched the tutorial I had no idea it really involved using a sock. Check it out, and try it! You'll be amazed! I have no idea how it works, but it works. It's easy peasy and pretty too!

Photobucket

6. I am in two weddings this spring. Which means, two sets of weekend showers, two sets of weekend bachelorette parties and then two weekends of weddings. Busy busy. But fun! I'm making these adorable ring pop favors for one of the showers. Here's the link of where you buy the boxes and then its just a matter of buying ring pops and placing them in. How easy is that for something so adorable!?

Photobucket

7. Have you all ever heard of Allegient Air?? I feel like I'm in the know of a BIG secret and wanted to share it. It's an airline that flys From different airports up and down the east coast but it only flys TO different ports in Florida. However, flights are SUPER cheap. Hunter and I got both our flights down to Naples last month for a TOTAL of 238 dollars. BOTH! You have to be careful though when you book because they automatically check bags for you, sign you up for flex fare, and give you priority boarding all of which that cost extra money. But remove the bags, uncheck the flex fare box and uncheck the priority boarding box and your good to go. Also you can buy a seat BUT you don't have to. If you don't its first come first serve when boarding.

Do you know anyone in Florida you can visit? If not his the beaches there or better yet hit up DISNEY!! A family of four could fly into Orlando for around 400 dollars. AMAZING!

8. I keep pump parts in my desk at work. hehehe :)

Photobucket

9. One benefit of being a working Mom that I never realized is getting to look forward to the weekends again. When I was on maternity leave I had no idea what day of the week is was. Monday was no different than friday to me. NOW, I am all smiles on friday and happy as a clam all weekend long with my nugget. Saturday morning he comes into bed with us and I tell him he's NOT going to school today and that he gets to be with mommy and daddy ALL day because its SATURDAY! That makes him happy :)

Photobucket

10. Our next SIX weekends in a row are booked. Family in town, trip to the Mountains, girlfriends bridal shower, birthday party for HL5s friend, trip to NYC for another bridal shower, then a wedding. hmmmmmmmm apparently life didn't get the memo that I'm a busy new working mom! oh well, I'm thankful for friends, family and our busy life! xoxo

A productive weekend...

It's was a productive and tiring weekend but tiring in a good way. I feel like I got a lot of good excersice into this pregnant body through yard and house work. I feel like list form will shoot this weekend accomplishments well... Here goes.

1. Attended Supper club with friends
2. Hung out with little sister from big brothers big sisters
3. Bought flowers for and potted 6 flower pots
4. Hunter mowed back lawn and trimmed all our bushes. I helped him pick up all the bush trimmings. (this was a BIG job our bushes had our back yard looking like a jungle - no joke)
5. Mopped the garage floor. yes you read that right...we have a painted garage floor so I mop it once and a while
6. Hunter washed his car (not mine - just his, jerk!)

8. Dusted, vaccummed, mopped the whole house. Upstairs and down including our bedroom!
9. 7 loads of laundry
10. Cleaned top to bottom including tubs of two bathrooms.
11. played fetch with jake. duh.

What do you think? productive? Now that some house chores are done I have some other things on my to do list. I'll keep going with the list format...it's really working for me this morning.

1. Finish tissue poms (15 of them to be exact), 2 banners, and 6 stings of tulle poms, and print candy labels for Reagan's first birthday party. Thats was like 4 things to do lumped into one number. :)
