A Very Merry Basement Project (comes to an End)

Merry Christmas everyone!!! This past saturday we brought back our dirty santa christmas party in our brand spankin new finished basement.  Ashamed to admit our last xmas party was back in 2010 but pretty cool can read about Here and Here on the blog.

Honestly, one of the main reasons I LOVE throwing parties is because it forces us with a deadline on house projects and overall just makes us get shiz done!!!  Perfect example...I've had about 6 frames sitting on my dining room table...oh for about...6 months! All I needed to do to finish our gallery wall was to hang these frames. It took me all of about 30 minutes to do it last week and I sit here wondering why it took me inviting 40 people over to actually kick my bum into gear to do it.  I'm sure this sounds familiar to others....but...it also forced us with a deadline to FINALLY finish the basement!!!

So the party was an absolute blast.  (Thank you to all of wonderful friends that came!) I managed to snag a few pics from friends to prove we had a good time ;) but kept the hard core discriminating pictures and videos to snap chat!!

Are you on snap chat?? If so, follow me... lunsfordkm is my snap chat ID. All the dirty santa party videos have fallen off the 24 hour story (thank gah!) ;) but maybe you'll catch some Lunsford Christmas Eve party shenanigans.

And without further ado....  The finish basement reveal!!  It's been tested, it's party proof, and totally worth the 10 month process and 1,000,000 fights over light fixtures, hardware, furniture, and window treatments.   Hope you love it as much as we do!! xoxo

This pic was pre-xmas party...we don't typically keep that much liquor on the counter ;)

Hunter's pride and joy!

Hand-made by Big daddy himself!! (my father-in-law)

This outdoor space went untouched for our first two years in this home. Looking forward to giving it some good use this summer!

Added little lanterns from Ikea to the white posts - its the little things that make such a big difference!

My favorite corner nook in the whole basement for many reasons :) xo

Hope ya'll have the very coziest christmas with lots of family time and wonderful memories made!! xo

Table Styling

I don't know about ya'll but I get complete anxiety over table styling and it's just too much for my OCD to handle.  If I can get a table just the way I like it, I'll keep it that way forever but if one thing seems off to me I'll be adding, taking away, changing until eternity. This year putting away Christmas decor and getting everyday decor back out kicked my table styling OCD into high gear.  I googled coffee table styling for some inspiration and found The Everygirl's Blog to be very helpful.

Here's some table styling around our home that I think I'm fairly satisfied with.  For now anyways.... and my apologies in advance...I'm labeling where I got things but most stuff is older so not available anymore.

Coffe Tables

As you can see I felt like this table was missing a natural element so added the boxwood.  Still feel like its missing something...maybe another one? or straightening out the bowl?  ugh...the playing continues

Kitchen Table: These I feel like need to be on a tray but I can't find a tray big enough and if I put them on a tray then I need bigger side hurricanes cause the balls look too big compared to the side candles.   Get your heads out of the gutters folks and sympathize with me on this dilemma ;)

Foyer Table
Lamp / Coral / Books (old) / Frame / Bowl

Upstairs Hallway Table

And these are shelves in our bathroom. I can't take credit for these...I recruited the help of my girl friend Lindsey (who's way better at this stuff than I am) when we first moved in and haven't touched them since.

Hunter's dresser in our bedroom.  Our Master needs sooooooo much work.  This is the only piece of furniture with anything decent on it ;)

Happy Styling! I accept any and all suggestions for changes.  It is fun once you get it how you like it :) xo

I love looking back through the past years of our Christmas decorations, and I love looking at others decorations and getting ideas for the future!  Here's a little 2014 Home Tour of our Christmas decor.  If your wondering where I purchased any of our decor items its 50% chance Potterybarn and 50% chance Target.

Sorry to disrupt your nap time Jake!

I love the simplicity of these mini trees.  They were in the 3 dollar bin at Target!  Now will someone with pretty hand writing please come over and write something festive on my chalkboard?

Potterybarn (ignore the un-fluffed tree in the background, thanks)

Saw this little idea of displaying Christmas books in a basket on pinterest.  I give you one guess where the basket is from....   yep.  Target!

Oh wait, hey...this bowl is from Tiffanys!! heck yeah. (wedding gift) Bells are from Potterybarn though...don't worry.
PB (I'm honestly tired of typing it out)

Sleight PB / Candles PB / Deer Target

Ok, somebody please come kid nap me and take me to home goods or west elm.  I officially have a problem not to mention am incredibly predictable and boring!

Show me your decor you DIDN'T get from PB or Target...PLEASE! xoxo
