It feels like Monday but I think it's Thursday. We are in MAJOR survival mode in the Lunsford household with everyone fighting viruses. Hunter IV and I have colds and poor little Hunter V has bronchitis. He's on a nebulizer treatment with albuteral every six hours and it just breaks our heart hearing the little man cough:(
We got back in town Monday from a very fun Mountain trip, had a PTA meeting for his daycare Tuesday, Daddy rushed him to the Dr. Wednesday morning and I left work early Wednesday afternoon to be with him all while running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get stuff ready for a bridal shower I'm throwing this Saturday too.
I have pictures to share from our long Mountain house weekend, laundry coming out my ears, and a filthy filthy home. If anyone was to unexpectedly come over you would be asked to leave. ha!
Oh yeah and wasn't it ash Wednesday yesterday? This working mom thing with a sick baby is no joke. Breastpump, cough drops, nebulizer machine, snotty tissues, dirty bottles, un maid beds, are just a few things you might see around our house this week.
Praying the weekend brings enough time to catch up on sleep, laundry, cleaning and nursing my little nugget back to health. Is it friday yet??

Happy Valentines Day, Lovers!
As I've said before, holidays take on a whole new meaning once your have a child. I've been so excited for Valentines day this year with Hunter and he's only 3 months old :) That didn't stop us from making Valentines for his classmates and teachers though and of course for daddy. And he wore his red Valentine's day overalls today! He was even so excited that he woke up at 5:30am this morning as oppose to his normal 7:30. Lucky mommy :)

and in case you were wondering...this is my poop face! :)

We made "You're Hand-some" valentines for the boys in his class by tracing Hunter's little hand.

And he O"fish"ally asked Wylie (the only girl in his class) to be his Valentine. I'm pretty sure she said yes. :) The fish valentine idea came from my sister-in-law Jenny's blog. She did a post on it a few weeks back. Thanks Jenny for the adorable idea.

We couldn't forget his AMAZING teachers. Two robot Valentines for Ms. T and Alicia. I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew it would be easy to re-create.

And lastly, a little reminder to Daddy how much he is loved! Another Pinterest idea!

Happy Valentines Day to you and your loved ones, from The Lunsfords! xoxo

Cousin Love
We're thankful to have Hunter's family near us. His parents recently purchased a condo on Lake Norman putting them 30 minutes away and his sister (The Stocks) are only 3.5hrs away.
We all gathered together this weekend to celebrate his Mom's birthday. Our niece Reagan was so good with baby Hunter, covering him up with his blankie and always making sure his paci was in his mouth. She's going to be a great big sister one day. We love seeing the cute kiddos together and of course I can't resist taking a million pictures of them. Here's just a couple from the weekend.

They both share a love for cartoons in the morning.

Reagan holding Little H's hand.

Hunter poopied through his clothes so I got him nekid. Then Reagan went up to Carter pulling on her pajamas and saying "off, off" she wanted to be nekid too :)

Reagan Cheesing :)

The sweet picture Reagan made Grami for her birthday.

My big boy sitting up in the bumbo cousin Reagan is letting him borrow.

The concentration. HL5 is starting to become more and more interested in toys.
The Mama's we're also able to hit the town Saturday night after we put the kids to bed! A rare treat that I paid for in bags under my eyes yesterday and today :)

And Jake of course managed to keep himself busy too!

4 day work week for this chick and then its off to spend another 5 days with the Stocks Family and friends! We can't wait :)

Randomness
I feel like my whole life is just randomness right now. We have SO much going on but not one event in praticular is big enough for a full blog post. So instead here's what filling our lives right now.
1. We are trying to wean HL5 from his swaddle. Everything I read says 3 months 4 months max so its time. He does great napping without it at daycare so Monday night we put him down in his crib for the first time without it. This was what I saw on the monitor.

hahaha...I'd say he was enjoying his freedom. He cried out at 2:30am that night though and back in he went. We'll keep trying, and we'll get there.
2. I'm officially addicted to Pinterest. It took me a while and actually took me getting the Pinterest app on my iphone to get me truly addicted. Now I just click on the app and scroll through pins of my followers like i'm scrolling through my facebook newsfeed. Dare I say I check pinterest more than facebook now?? It's a close call! Follow me on Pinterest! (see my button to the right) :) I've even started a board for HL5's birthday. Might be worlds record for earliest start to kids birthday party planning. 8 months in advance, ha! I also bought the stuff to make these homemade granola bars sometime this week. YUM!

3. Are you watching the Bachelor? We are, of course, and its BY FAR our favorite ever. Courtney is HILARIOUS!!! The stuff that comes out of her mouth, the facial expressions she gives and her actions to back it all up. I LOVE her, I'm sorry, I do. Hunter IV is actually willing to watch this season with me because he also looks forward to her hilarious antics.

4. My morning routine is NUTS! I'm still not used to it. I wake up at 6:30am and am still not getting into work until after 9am. 2.5hrs of pure craziness before I even sit down at my desk. It goes a little something like this. 6:30 pump, 6:45am prepare Hunters daycare bottles, wash pump bottles etc. 7am shower, 7:30am feed, change and dress Hunter. 8am finish getting myself ready. 8:15 grab all the bottles and pump stuff out of the fridge and head out the door, 8:30 at daycare to drop him off, 9am at my desk to START my day. say WHAAAAAAT my day is just starting. SIGH!
5. Long live the SOCK BUN! Have you heard of the sock bun. I found it on pinterest and when I repinned the picture before I watched the tutorial I had no idea it really involved using a sock. Check it out, and try it! You'll be amazed! I have no idea how it works, but it works. It's easy peasy and pretty too!

6. I am in two weddings this spring. Which means, two sets of weekend showers, two sets of weekend bachelorette parties and then two weekends of weddings. Busy busy. But fun! I'm making these adorable ring pop favors for one of the showers. Here's the link of where you buy the boxes and then its just a matter of buying ring pops and placing them in. How easy is that for something so adorable!?

7. Have you all ever heard of Allegient Air?? I feel like I'm in the know of a BIG secret and wanted to share it. It's an airline that flys From different airports up and down the east coast but it only flys TO different ports in Florida. However, flights are SUPER cheap. Hunter and I got both our flights down to Naples last month for a TOTAL of 238 dollars. BOTH! You have to be careful though when you book because they automatically check bags for you, sign you up for flex fare, and give you priority boarding all of which that cost extra money. But remove the bags, uncheck the flex fare box and uncheck the priority boarding box and your good to go. Also you can buy a seat BUT you don't have to. If you don't its first come first serve when boarding.
Do you know anyone in Florida you can visit? If not his the beaches there or better yet hit up DISNEY!! A family of four could fly into Orlando for around 400 dollars. AMAZING!

8. I keep pump parts in my desk at work. hehehe :)

9. One benefit of being a working Mom that I never realized is getting to look forward to the weekends again. When I was on maternity leave I had no idea what day of the week is was. Monday was no different than friday to me. NOW, I am all smiles on friday and happy as a clam all weekend long with my nugget. Saturday morning he comes into bed with us and I tell him he's NOT going to school today and that he gets to be with mommy and daddy ALL day because its SATURDAY! That makes him happy :)

10. Our next SIX weekends in a row are booked. Family in town, trip to the Mountains, girlfriends bridal shower, birthday party for HL5s friend, trip to NYC for another bridal shower, then a wedding. hmmmmmmmm apparently life didn't get the memo that I'm a busy new working mom! oh well, I'm thankful for friends, family and our busy life! xoxo

3 Months!
3 months old marks a big milestone to me you are not a newborn anymore but a developing infant. You went through another big growth spurt, I can see you learning now, and you started daycare! aka school. Mom and Dad pay tuition not day care costs! :)
Size: Size 2 diaper, 6 month onesies and sleepers, 3-6 months pants.
Height: 25.5 inches
Weight: 15 pounds
Development: You are learning so much everyday! Your grabbing at toys more and have found out how to put things up to your mouth.
You LOVE eating (sucking) on your hand even if your not hungry.
I also think you found your feet the other day while in your carseat. Your eyes just kept looking down at them in amazement.
My favorite development of yours this month has been your talking! You coo and gab soooo much now and its the cutest thing in the world. I really think you know what your saying and one day I'll understand what your saying too buddy. Won't be long! You also give lots of heart melting gummy smiles too! As your Mom I love it when you smile because that tells me your happy and I ALWAYS want you to be happy :) Lastly your very strong. You love to lock out your legs and stand while we hold you up, your neck strength is great and I know you aren't far from rolling over and sitting up on your own.
Some development I'm not so fond of is you have learned how to arch your back in effort to fight us on things you don't want to happen like changing your diaper or getting in your carseat. Once your in your fine and all smiles but man it's like we are trying to place on a bed of nails getting you in. Which leads us to your personality....
Personality: There are four words that come to mind this month. Monster, spit fire, happy and smart. We call you monster because you are one :) Mommy's little monster though! Here's an example of your monster ways...One night at 8pm you decide your hungry and start screaming like your going to starve to death. So we rush you up to the bath tub to give you a quick bath, then your bottle and off to bed (its our normal every night routine you are used to). You cry as the bath fills, you cry once we place you in there and while daddy washes you and we are rushing rushing to get you out because we know you just want your bottle. Then all of a sudden you give us a gummy grin and giggle like nothing was ever wrong. I thought u were hungry and going to starve to death? Your such a little monster :) Spit fire - your arching of the back thing has us seriously worried about what you have in store for us when your a toddler. We're in trouble :) Happy - You really are a great baby! It's still true that if you are not hungry or tired your happy and content. Being talked to makes you smiles lots of ear to ears. Smart - Every mom thinks their child is far more advanced than other children. I'm no different!
Eating - Your bottles are 5.5 to 6 ounces 7 times a day. 6am ish, 9am ish, 12, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and 11 oclock dream feed. Although this is starting to change a bit since your sleeping longer from daycare. We moved you up to a faster flow level 2 nipple this month but we give you a slow flow level 1 at your 9pm bedtime bottle to make you work harder and more sleepy. You adjusted nicely to the faster flow taking it all down more quickly however you've started a habit of pulling away from the bottle and then wanting it back right away. Its a very annoying habit but I think you are getting distracted and looking around as you eat. Busy boy you are!
Sleeping - All month long before you started daycare you slept 9pm til 4:30am with a dream feed at 11pm. Since daycare you have slept in til 6am, 6:30am and this morning I had to wake you up at 7:30am! Mama LOVES daycare cause it is wearing your little bum out. :) Overall I feel very blessed for how well your sleeping has progressed. Your still being swaddled at night because you wake yourself up by rubbing your eyes. However, daycare has not been swaddling you for your naps which is a step in the right direction of getting rid of the swaddle all together. Our goal is to have you out of it by 4months.
Likes: To sit up when being held, stare at the TV (and you love cartoons/child development shows better than anything), to be talked to and to talk back, to be swaddled, your bath and your pacifier. AND your most favor tie thing in the world right now is your rain forest bouncer. You coo, kick, stare at the lights in amazement, and just can't get enough of the dang monkey that moves back and forth! We love watching the faces you make as you stare at all the rain forest excitement.
Dislikes: Getting in your carseat, being cold after your bath, having lotion put on you, waiting on your bottle, being on your tummy for too long, when daddy yells at the tv. haha

The first week...
I know some are curious to know how the first week of daycare and back to work went. Mommy settled back into work nicely but baby Hunter took a little bit longer. Monday morning I got a call from daycare at 10:30am with Hunter screaming bloody murder in the background. I asked them "is he okay" they said yes but they were unsure of his eating schedule (even though we told them) and that he would nap (they forgot about the swaddle) so I went over there and calmed the sweet boy down. Monday night he sat on Grami's lap, eyes gazed over with a look on his face that said "what the heck just happened to me today". Tuesday I dropped him off and got a look like "this place again, are you serious? I thought that was a one time thing, Mom" And Tuesday his feeding was still off as he missed a bottle due to sleeping but come Wednesday he was more sure of our new routine and thursday I even got a smile before I left him in the morning. Everyday gets easier as we figure out our new routine and we do love his school and teachers. Overall I see this all working out juuuuuuust fine. I'm confident little man will come to love his new classroom and friends.
One of his teachers sent me this picture of him during his first day. You can see the gazed over look of exhaustion in the poor boys eyes. I think at this point he had given up the fight. ha! It's really nice that they will send pictures throughout the day though!

TGIF!!! xoxo
