New Digs...
Thank you all for the sweet comments on being homeless :) It was a stressful exciting process for sure but on Feb 14th 2013 THIS will be our NEW HOME :)
We are sooo excited!!! It's happens to be in the neighborhood where two of our best friends live so being near friends is a tremendous added bonus. We're on the 10th hole of the golf course, right across the street from the clubhouse and driving range, AND negociated that the pool table stays in the contract.
Needless to say I have one happy hubby. NOW the fun for me begins :) DECORATING!
I'm really looking forward to your advice and opinions as I go room by room turning this baby into our dream home!

homeless
I don't get too too personal on the blog alot, but I figured people might be wondering where we've been, what we've been up to...
Well we're house hunting!!! Our house sold in two weeks (a good thing, I know!) but we close Jan 25th and aren't sure were we are living yet. If anyone knows my husband then you know he is overly critical, indecisive, and a prograsticnator ALL things that do not suit well when it comes to need to find a home in 30 days.
Between our 9-5 jobs, being parents, all that is involved with xmas (shopping, decorating, parties), oh and grandaddy passed away :( ADD house hunting into ever free second inbetween all the above mentioned....this women is STRESSED.
I'm actually embarrased to admit that our xmas tree never made it inside our home this year :( We bought one...but then had to put it up in the backyard the night we got it because we had a showing the next morning. That showing turned into a contract to sell and its been crazy since. so sad. so sad.
Well its safe to say this next home will be our forever home because if I have to house hunt again with my overly critical, indecisive, perfectionist of a husband then it may just very well lead to divorce. and we dont want that. so we should just not move again ;) On the other hand, if I was doing this myself I would have bought 5 different homes by now so its probably a good thing that we balance each other out. love u baby!
Will someone tell my husband there is no such thing as a perfect home...oh and remind him what our budget is, cause he LOVES to go see houses we can't afford. Now that's productive. (insert sarcasm)
Who has a spare room?
Merry Christmas from our homeless to yours!! :)

DIY: Magnolia Wreath
Magnolia trees are a dime a dozen around here in Charlotte. We don't have one in our yard...but our neighbors do ;) SHHHH, don't tell, but I snuck over there and borrowed (ok stole) some leaves off their three to make us an oh so pretty Magnolia Wreath.
Here's what I used...a wire wreath template and green floral wire both from Michaels.

and some leaves of course...

There are some turtorials online that use foam wreaths and I might try that next time in order to make the wreath fluffier looking but what I used did the trick too...

And just start outside in tieing leafs on the wire template. I must say this was more time consuming that i would have liked, a few hours all combined.
But I'd say the end product was well worth it!
Jakey wanted to help but I wouldnt let him...so he gave me his best "puppy dog face"
HEY! Write it down, record the date, I did a post that wasn't about the baby :)
Merry Christmas!

Baby's first haircut
Why do Mom's wait until WAAAAAAAAAAY past it's time to get their baby's first hair cut. Holding on to that sweet baby hair and dreading their baby to look like a little boy :( I didn't think I would be that mom, but I was!!!
Case in point.......
BEFORE - I'd say I couldn't have held out any longer, what do you think?
And there goes his babyhood :(
Such a popular little man, couldn't hold his calls til after his haircut!

A Little Monster Party!
Hunter's first birthday couldn't have gone any better! The baby napped two 2.5hr naps that day so he was a happy boy and seemed to really enjoy his party. The other kids had fun, the adults seemed to have fun, the decor went as planned, and the food went as planned.
We really had a great time and want to thank everyone for coming and being so sweet to our precious little boy. Thank you all for your VERY generous gifts...Hunter has more toys than he knows what to do with now but I think he would agree with me when I say its a good problem to have :) Thank you!!! Special thanks to my parents (especially mom) when i say I couldnt have done it without her I mean I couldnt have done it without her. Without my mom guests would have showed up to half the decor put up, a filthy house, half the food cooked...she really was a life saver!! If there is one thing I'm not good at its choosing pictures. So enjoy the obnoxious amount of pictures from what I would call a PERFECT Monster party.
Opening Nana and Papa's gifts the morning of the party
The AMAZING smash cake made by our dear friend Nicola @ cupadewdledew.
Mac n Cheese bar for the kids with green monster smoothies, a monster fruit bowl, a snack table with Hunter's favorite snacks, and the goodie bags (yes hand painted with puffy paint monsters by moah) ha! It had been a while since I busted out some puffy paint :)
The picnic table was our gift to baby Hunter and a great excuse to order it before the party so the other kids could use it! The monster bowls I ordered off amazon. If you are throwing a monster party I thought these little monster snack keepers were super cute too!
I cannot take credit for most of these ideas. Check out my Hunter's 1st birthday board on pinterest and you'll see where most of them came from!
The birthday boy enjoying his snacks from the snack bar with nanny.
My awesome Hunter boots from Aunt Lindsey and Uncle John
I also love my new car from Aunt Carter, Uncle Chad and Reagan. Daddy loves that it has a cup holder for his beer on our walks!! :)
Cake TIME!
And a pinata to end the night!
On to year TWO!!! xoxo
